Volunteer Opportunity for Youth in the Fargo Moorhead Area
Fraser Limited, the longest serving non-profit organization in North Dakota, is once again holding their 8th annual Youth Volunteer Camp for youth ages 10-14, during the week of July 27th-31st from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. The cost is $15. Registration is limited to the first 50 participants.
Fraser, Ltd., embraces the belief that the individual person is significant in benefiting society as a whole. By volunteering, we can make a difference in the lives of others. Volunteering is a great way to increase awareness of societal needs while enhancing self worth. Any way you look at it, volunteering is a wonderful idea for the youth of our community.
Here is a list of some of the volunteer camp sites and what they can expect to be a part of:
Great Pets: youth are introduced to animals at an early age, providing long-term effects.
Salvation Army: Volunteers, or the “army behind the Army”, play a crucial role in their ability to strengthen and extend services throughout the community.
Rheault Farm: Be a part of a variety of festivals, events and classes all year long.
Great Plains Food Bank: Be a part of an organization that supplies food supplies food pantries and other feeding programs with surplus and/or donated food. More than 5.5 million pounds of food is distributed annually to more than 236 agencies statewide. These agencies help feed over 54,000 hungry and sometimes homeless North Dakotans each month.
Bonanzaville: Volunteers will assist at this museum that has preserved building on site, antique airplanes, fire engines and so much more!
F-M Convention & Visitors Bureau: Help out at the place to go to find out about exciting attractions in our area.
United Way of Class Clay: “When you join forces with others, your contribution has more impact. When you contribute, you help more than just one person or charity.” Volunteer campers pack school supplies to be given to youth in our area for United Way’s School Supply Drive.
Courts Plus Fitness Center: Take a part in a business that provides a friendly atmosphere that promotes a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle.
Fargo Fire Department: With 105 personnel, 6 stations, 6 engine companies, a hazardous materials response unit, a rescue vehicle and one ladder truck, this is sure to be a busy learning experience. Fire Fighters are well trained and are always ready to serve the citizens of our community.
