2958493189_6593be3096_mOne of my children’s favorite fall activities is visiting the local pumpkin patches. As residents of the Fargo-Moorhead area, we are fortunate to have a variety of patches to visit. The Buffalo River Pumpkin patch opened on September 19th. This particular fall family friendly spot is located on Highway 10, 4  miles east of Glyndon, MN or 8 miles west of Hawley, MN. The hours of operation are: Friday 3:00 – 6:00, Saturday and Sunday 10:00 – 6:00. The gate admission is $4.00/person. Check out their website for a dollar off coupon. It should be noted that some of the attractions require tickets for participation.

Attractions include:

  • Horse Drawn Wagon Ride Through the Not So Scary Haunted Forest
  • Horse Drawn Omnibus through the Village
  • Animal Barn
  • Little Monsters Game Area
  • Straw Maze
  • Old MacDonalds Barrel Car Ride
  • Cowboy Camp

There are also weekly attractions that are free with gate admission. Penny and Pals will be performing on Oct.3 at 2:00 and 3:30.  UPDATE:  Due to rain, Penny and Pals are now scheduled to appear on Saturday, October 10th. The following weekend, kids can get their faces painted for free. On Oct. 17 and 18 there will be scavenger hunts with pumpkin painting the following weekend. On Oct. 31st you can receive $1 off gate admission for all wearing costumes.

If you are looking to purchase fall merchandise, the General Store has items for purchase. You can buy pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and much more.

Please feel free to comment on the other F-M area attractions. For further information for the Fargo-Moorhead area, click here.
