Recipe Of The Week – Pearl Barley Hotdish
If you’ve never tried a barley hotdish, give this recipe a try and you’ll be surprised at how delicious this tastes! I love this recipe because it’s so quick and easy and I don’t have to dirty a lot of dishes in the process. Let me know what you think!What you’ll need: 1/2 cup brown rice 1/2 cup pearl barley 1 1/2 pounds hamburger 2 cups diced celery 1 diced onion 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can water 1 can of mushrooms with juice (I actually don’t include these when I make it but if you like mushrooms, go ahead and throw them in) 3 tablespoons soy sauce
Brown hamburger, onion and celery in frying pan. Mix in the rest of the ingredients and place in 3 quart casserole dish.
Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350 degrees.
