Plenty going on at the historic Fargo Theatre in July!

fargo-theatreIf you’ve never been to the historic Fargo Theatre,  located in downtown Broadway, now would be a great time to head there.  During the month of July, there are several events going on that you and your kids may be interested in!

First off, during the week of the Street Fair (July 16th-18th), an adults only show called The Great American Trailer Park Musical is showing.  This wildly popular musical supports a talented regional cast and according to Talkin” Broadway, is the theatrical equivalent of a bag of Doritos…..you can’t get enough.  This irreverent but heartwarming tribute to Americana set in a trailer park has been described as South Park meets Desperate Housewives!  An Off-Broadway hit, GATPM moves briskly through distinct American musical styles from Broadway to disco, country and rock.  Kick back after a long day of shopping at the Street Fair and enjoy a good laugh!  Shows are at 8p with doors opening at 7:15p.

Next, kids can travel the globe Tuesdays in July with these international family favorites.  July 14th, the Childrens Film Series will be showing Spirited Away (Japan).  July 21st, they can enjoy Wallace and Gromit (United Kingdom) and on July 28th, they can watch a double feature of award-winning short films The Red Balloon & White Mane (France).  Tickets are $4 for admission; for $6, you can get an admission ticket and a small bottled water, popcorn and fruit snack.  Show times are 1p and 5:30p.

Lastly, the Fargo Theatre is currently showing two very good movies that you must see!  MOON is a story of a man who has been on the moon for 3 years, working for a company which mines Earth’s primary source of energy.  Weeks away from returning home, his health starts to deteriorate and he is left fighting the clock to discover what is going on and where he fits in to his companies plans.  The other movie is titled FOOD and reveals surprising and often shocking truths about what we eat, how it’s produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.  A must-see!.  Visit the website to view showtimes.

BOX OFFICE HOURS are Monday – Friday at 10 am – 4pm during the week. Call 701-235-4152 to reserve tickets. The Fargo Theatre seats 870 people. There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets purchased for our live events.
