Next Up, Plumbing. What Decisions Do You Make for Plumbing When Building in the Fargo Moorhead Area?

The Plumber for this project was Dirk from Custom Design Plumbing.  After talking with Dirk about the tankless water heating system I wondered how many more decisions we had left to make with the plumber.  Not many I was betting.  Again, I was wrong!

We started in the master bathroom where we had to decide on the type of bathroom sinks and faucets we wanted.  Then we had to find a Roman Faucet for the whirlpool tub and decide what type of shower head we would like. With all of these options, a color choice had to be made.  Did we want chrome, oil rubbed bronze, nickel, etc.  Another big decision for us was whether to have a shower door or shower curtain.  We decided to go with the shower door, believing it will be easier to clean the door instead of replacing the shower curtain 2 – 3 times a year.  Lets hope I made the right decision there.  Since we chose the shower door, we decided to go with the oil rubbed bronze faucet and shower head in there.  This color will accent the handles on the cabinets beautifully.

I previously had done my research on the sink styles and found one I loved on the Home Depot site. They look really cool from the picture. The brand is Kohler and the make is Serif, model number 2075.  They are special order only, so I gave the information to our plumber. The sink is self-rimming and has a little lip around the outside. I attached a picture for you to
see. I decided on the color white for the sinks.

Next we moved into the kitchen. David’s mother recently remodeled her kitchen and had an air button garbage disposal put in. It was very neat.  Just like in a whirlpool tub, you push a button to turn the garbage disposal on and off. For only a $48 upgrade, we decided to add something unique to the kitchen. See the picture I have included. Pretty slick.

Last but not least, David added the Hot/Cold spicket in the garage. At this point I am not so sure what this will be used for. David says we can wash our cars in the garage in the winter (although I wonder if he forgets how cold the winters in MN can be) and fill up the pools for the kids in the summer with warm water. Just some ideas to justify the purchase. I am
sure we will get much more use out of it than I can imagine today.

Next we walked through with the cabinet maker.  Not too many decisions, but great design choices. I will fill you in later.

Here are some plumbing contractors to choose from in the Fargo Moorhead area.
