Registration for Moorhead Community Education classes begins August 27. There are courses over the next months on a variety of topics including art & music, Business, career & money, computers, cooking, dance & exercise, home & garden, photography and more. More information on the classes offered and schedules can found here.

Following are some of the money and business courses offered.
Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees. Teaching children to save money is very important and showing them how to spend it wisely is equally important. Learn tips on teaching your children about money, the differences between wants verses needs and setting up a budget. The world is your financial classroom. This information will help you talk to your children from preschoolers through high school.

A Woman’s Guide to Money Matters. This seminar is designed for women of all ages to learn how to take control of their financial lives by examining their values and setting specific, realistic and measurable goals. The seminar also covers key strategies for three common financial goals: preparing for retirement, living in retirement and paying for education.

Making Your Paycheck Last. Only 10 percent of the population knows how to control where they spend their money. Learn to avoid “Pay Day Trauma,” control your income and still plan for your dreams. Determine the best payoff strategy with your creditors. Budgets only tell you where you already spend your paycheck, not where you would like to spend it. This plan allows you to spend it the way you want, and once established it takes a limited amount of time to maintain. Become debt free in half the time with the same cash flow.

These are just a few of the offererings, check out the website for more information on these classes and many more. Course catalogs can also be found at the local libraries and other locations.
