Because I recently had to use the MAT or Metro Area Transit because of my car breaking down and being in the shop for a couple days, I realized that we really do have a good transit system in Fargo-Moorhead that works really well.  I am telling myself now that I really should use it more often when I can if not only to save some on the environment by having my vehicle off the road but to save myself some gas money and wear and tear on my car.

My cousin uses MAT daily because she has no vehicle and always made it sound like she could get anywhere she needed to go and in a timely manner because she had the schedules, maps, rates, info on the detours, etc., from the site on the Internet that they provide.  I always wondered if it was true because it sounded like a big inconvenience to me but when I was forced to give it a try it really was like she said it was.

I didn’t have to travel between the 2 cities yet so I am not sure if that is possible but I am assuming it is because there are many people that need to travel between Fargo and Moorhead for business, work, shopping, etc.  There is a map and much more information on this site, one set up for Fargo and one set up for Moorhead.

I was thinking that I was so happy that this car problem happened when the weather was nice instead of the cold of the winter but now I am thinking what a great way to travel around and not have to fight the weather and the traffic in your own vehicle when the winter comes.  Not a bad idea if I say so myself.  Be sure to check out this transportation even if you are thinking it’s not something you would like because you might be very surprised the same as I was.
