If you are looking for a great way to see some extremely talented fifth through eighth graders, you have to go see the Horizon Musical Theater Camp’s production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr at the Moorhead High School.  I saw this group perform three of the songs from the show at Midwest Kid Fest at Island Park last Friday and was so impressed. Ok, you might say I am a bit biased because two of my children and one of my nieces are in the show, but really, the talent is unbelievable. As of last Friday, these sixty students had been rehearsing for less than two weeks and they were awesome! It is so fun to see the kids truly enjoying their musical theater experience. If they were that good after 8 days, I can only imagine how great they will be for their performances next week.

A little bit about the story of Aladdin…. All of your favorite Disney Aladdin characters are in this adaptation, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and my personal favorite, the Genie. There will be magic, excitement, a genie and a lamp, and flying carpet rides along with hits such as “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.” This family friendly musical has something for all ages.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for student/child. All seats are general admission. There are special group rates for daycares. The performances are June 29th at 7 pm and June 30th at 2 pm and 7 pm at the Moorhead High School Auditorium. Hope to see you there….
