This event, the Lil’ Fishermen’s Derby, is a great event for anyone with children or anyone willing to take the neighbor kids out for a fun time!    On Monday, June 7th, kids (ages 16 and under) will have the opportunity to learn the basics of fishing from 5-6p, at a fishing clinic.  Then, from 6-7:30p, they can put those skills to the test and participate in the fishing derby and see if they can land the big one.  Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories at 7:45p.  Free hotdogs and Pepsi products will be available, while supplies last.  Children are encourages to bring fishing rods and join in the fun at the Dike East located at 100 2nd St. South Fargo.

This is a great chance to get out and enjoy the beginning of summer with the kids.  I have brought my boys to this in the past, and there is good information presented to them that will help get them ready for the next time you head out and travel to the next great destination for a day of fishing!
