As an avid golfer and outdoor enthusiast, I am delighted with all Fargo Moorhead has to offer for the golfer in you.  Whether you have never golfed or are a scratch player courses in the area can suit your needs.  Below I have listed potential settings for your next outing.  They are separated into beginning, improving, and experienced sections.

Beginning-

If you are just getting into the game try El Zagal.  It offers a friendly 9-hole course that will challenge the beginning player.  It has a par of 28 and with 8 par three holes it provides ample opportunities to work on you short irons.

If you have golfed a few times and are looking for a greater challenge, I would give Prairewood a try. It is located at 22 Prairiewood Drive Fargo. This course is designed for golfers with any level of ability, but is especially good for beginner golfers.  It has all the hazards and amenities you will see in more challenging courses in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Improving-

If you have lost your fair share of balls as you have improved your slice, it may be worth trying a more challenging course in town.  I would suggest either Village Green or Rose Creek.  Both courses are true 18 hole courses that will challenge your improving game.  The greens are much more difficult than the beginning courses and make even the experiences golfer think.

Experienced-

If you are in it for the challenge, I would suggest trying one of my two favorite courses in town.  Edgewood golf course requires you to hit ball straight and long to get a low score.  The trees that line the fairways prevent you a shot at the green from anywhere on the course.  Running next to the beautiful Red River this course will challenge even the best golfers.

If you are a fan of a traditional “links” style course, I would head towards Moorhead’s Meadows Golf Course.  This course requires you to take the wind into account as you face the large sand traps, water hazards and multi-level greens.  It plays differently every time you step up to the tee box.

While I did not list every course in town I am confident that Fargo Moorhead can meet your golfing needs with a variety of courses.  Keep your head down and swing away!
