Dilworth, located just outside of Moorhead, is busy planning their annual Dilworth Loco Daze set for July 26 – August 1, 2010. The number of events that are packed into this fun-filled week is amazing! I am already marking my calendar to make sure I don’t miss a thing. My kids, ages 4, 11, and 12 are really excited to attend this year too, since they had so much fun in 2009.

Monday – Sunday, July 26 – August 1 – Once again, Loco Daze will feature a “Question Quiz” which runs throughout the entire Loco Daze. Participants ages 12 and under who answer all questions correctly will be eligible to win one of two $50 gift certificates. Participants between the ages of 13 and 16 will also have a chance for a $50 gift card if they answer all questions correctly. Please make sure to get your responses in by July 30th to City Hall.

Tuesday, July 27, 9:00 – 1:30,  Dilworth Wellness and Health Fair – The first 250 people can receive a free lunch between 11:00 – 1:00. This day includes  free blood pressure checks, an Ask-A-Nurse booth, guest speaker Eric Bergeson, and entertainment by Ron Evans. This event is sponsored by Serenity Assisted Living and the City of Dilworth.

Wednesday, July 28, 12 Noon, Loco Daze Locomotive Golf Scramble – This event is sold out, so plan ahead for next year!

Wednesday, July 28, 6:00 – 10:00 pm – Enjoy camping? This event is sponsored by Dilworth Lutheran Church and Pathways and is open to all 7th – 12th graders. There will be games, worship, and free pop and pizza at 6:00. Call 287-2628 and ask for Tara for more details.

Thursday, July 29, 11:00 – 2:00, Youth Day – Come out for free lunch, guest speakers, games, exhibits, and more. Open to anyone 16 years and younger.

Thursday, July 29, Noon, Loco Daze “Caboose” Golf Scramble – Sign up at Mills Lounge by July 18th. This event is limited to 60 participants and will be located at Ponderosa Golf Course in Glyndon. The cost is $45/person for 18 holes. You must be 21 or older to participate. Make sure to attend the awards banquet that night at 7:30 at Mills Lounge.

Thursday, July 29, 6:30, Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament – Grades 4th- 9th at the Junior High gym. You can register at the site.

Thursday, July 29, 7:00, Dilworth Lions versus Dilworth Fire Dept “Challenge Cup” Volleyball Game at Constitution Park.  All spectators are welcome!

Thursday, July 29, 9:00 pm – 1:00 am – Karaoke for adults, ages 21 or older at J.C.’s Corral.

Friday, July 30, 1:00 – 3:00, Open Free Swim at the Dilworth Swimming Pool

Friday, July 30, 3:00 – 5:00, Youth Pool Party at Dilworth Pool, sponsored by Northwestern State Bank, free admission

Friday, July 30, 6:30, Betty Zimmel Memorial Parade followed immediately by the Ping Pong Ball Scramble for ages 12 and under.

Friday, July 30, 6:30 – 10:00 pm, Games Galore Inflatable Games at the Community Center. Concessions will be available.

Friday, July 30, 7:00 – 8:00, Dilworth Police Department Free Bike Registration Program, Bring your bike and register for free. This normally costs $5.

Friday, July 30, 7:15, Pedal Tractor Pull, for kids 12 and under

Friday, July 30, 8:00 PM, Pinochle Tournament, pre-registration at City Hall or register at time of event. Cost is $5/person.
